  • 2 geperste limoenen
  • 1 limoen in schijfjes

  • 250 ml amandel, soja, haver of klassieke koemelk
  • 4 eetlepels chiazaden
  • 1 theelepel vanille extract

Golden Turmeric Recipes

Golden Turmeric Recipes

Turmeric is an incredibly versatile ingredient. There are so many ways to eat and drink it. You can use the spice in the kitchen for adding more flavour to savory dishes such as soups, dressings and curries. You can also add it to rice, vegetables or scrambles. However, not many people think of using turmeric as a ingredient for sweets such as cookies and cakes or a sweet latte! 4. A Dirty Golden: Turmeric Latte with a shot of espresso

This simple recipe combines the kick of coffee with the kick of the spices of our Turmeric Latte mix. Start off with making  a regular Turmeric Latte:

  • Hot Turmeric Latte: Add ½ teaspoon of Turmeric  Latte Mix to 180 ml cold milk and stir and steam this together.
  • Iced Turmeric Latte: Add ½ teaspoon of Turmeric  Latte Mix to a little bit of hot water and mix this well. Then add 350 ml of a milk of your choice. Add some ice to make it even more cold and refreshing!

Then you either add a shot of espresso or 1/2 a cup of regular brewed coffee to your glass of Turmeric Latte or the other way around.

5. Easy Turmeric Ginger Cookies

Makes about 10 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium egg
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds
  • 1 cup ground oats / oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup sunflower / flax / sesame / pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • a pinch of pink or sea salt
  • 1 -2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla paste (or 1 drop essence)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp coconut palm sugar or cane sugar
  • Preheat the oven to 170 degrees.

In a mixing bowl, beat the egg with the mashed banana. Then add the almond, oatmeal, seeds and dessicated coconut and mix well. Next add the salt, spices, baking powder and vanilla and mix again. Finally add the coconut oil and coconut palm sugar and combine it all. If you don’t mind eating raw egg you might want to taste a little and see if you would like to add more spice, sweetness or saltiness.

Using your hands, shape the mixture into balls and flatten them into a cookie shape, placing them on a non stick baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden on top and soft in the middle. (They will firm and dry up a little as they cool so less is better than more in terms of cooking). Store in an airtight container for up to five days.

Third Vegetarian Pret A Manger Opens in London!

The grab-and-go eatery opens another meatless location after overwhelming customer demand.

A new all-vegetarian Pret A Manger (“Veggie Pret”) will open its doors next Wednesday on Exmouth Market in London. The eatery will invite 500 customers on Tuesday for a preview of the new menu, which features new vegan dishes such as a breakfast Beans & Avocado Power Pot, a Vegan Ragu & Red Pepper Hot Wrap, and Sweet Potato, Coconut & Cashew Flatbread—which were added to Veggie Pret’s two other London locations earlier this week. Pret CEO Clive Schlee discovered a growing demand for meat-free and vegan options at Pret locations and tested the concept of a Veggie Pret pop-up in Soho in 2016. The concept was so well-received that Schlee made the location permanent. In addition to the Exmouth Market Pret, the brand opened a second Veggie Pret in Shoreditch last spring, introduced all-vegetarian refrigerators to all of its United Kingdom locations this summer, and credited its vegan options—the top eight selling dishes at Veggie Pret locations—for the company’s continued success.

Pret a Manger serves our vegan Authentic Chai, which is perfect for their new vegetarian and vegan friendly locations.  Veganism and vegetarianism is rising! In fact, the number of vegans in Britain has risen by more than 360 per cent over the past decade, according to a new survey that shows record numbers of people are avoiding food derived from animals. (source: telegraph.co.uk). By having a vegan Chai Latte on the menu of your restaurant or cafe you can make ordering a Chai Latte an option for all of your guests and thereby increase your sales.
